Action Energy Inc. began operations as a private company in 1999 developing plays in Shackleton, Saskatchewan and Medicine River, Alberta. In November, 2006, Action Energy Inc. completed a reverse takeover of High Plains Energy Inc. High Plains Energy Inc. had a public listing and high-potential assets in Lindbergh, Lloydminster and Gallahad, Alberta. Each constituent company had experienced repeated drilling successes on its respective plays.

After conducting the reserve takeover, Action Energy Inc. began trading on the TSX-Venture exchange on November 20, 2006, under the trading symbol AEC.V. For additional corporate statistics, please click here.

In August 2007, Action completed a takeover of Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. and San Telmo Energy Inc. by way of plan of arrangement.

In February 2008, Action acquired a contractual right to over 10,000 acres of Bakken mineral rights in southeast Saskatchewan.
